CLEVELAND, WI —

Kohler Foundation, dedicated to increasing access to education through scholarships, proudly announces an annually renewable gift of $250,000 to Lakeshore Technical College (Lakeshore) to support local youth pursuing higher education.

Long recognized for its commitment to fostering educational opportunities through scholarship, the Kohler Foundation believes in and actively supports all pathways to post-secondary education. This recent contribution underscores their ongoing dedication to empowering students in the community through scholarship.

“The Kohler Foundation has been dedicated to supporting learning from the outset. We are pleased to announce new funding specifically aimed at supporting local high school students as they commence their educational endeavors at Lakeshore Technical College. Through this investment in expanding educational opportunities, we not only empower individual ambitions but also enhance the well-being of the entire community. Recognizing education as the bedrock of progress, our goal with this funding is to uplift and motivate students to continue their educational pursuits, thereby contributing to the advancement and prosperity of our community,” said Laura Roenitz, Executive Director at Kohler Foundation, Inc.

According to Niche.com, a college comparison resource for students, Lakeshore is ranked as the #1 technical college in Wisconsin and has consistently demonstrated excellence in providing high-quality education with a wide array of programs, including 71 associate degrees and technical diplomas. With more than 9,000 students served annually, Lakeshore Technical College plays a pivotal role in shaping the region’s workforce.  Over 94% of Lakeshore graduates stay and work in the area after they complete their education. The financial support provided by the Kohler Foundation will go directly towards scholarships, facilitating access to education for students in the region and strengthening our community.

Lakeshore President Dr. Paul Carlsen stated, “The impact of an ongoing gift is generational. The fact that Kohler Foundation will be providing an annually renewable gift of $250,000 to the Lakeshore Technical College Educational Excellence Scholarship is a profound investment in our region’s students, the overwhelming majority of whom stay local after they graduate from our college. For example, over the next ten years, a renewable scholarship like this will support more than 450 students with a collective $2.5 million in scholarship funds to achieve their academic goals. We are very proud to be an educational partner with the Kohler Foundation.”

This effort exemplifies the shared commitment of two longstanding community supporters. Kohler Foundation, established in 1940, and Lakeshore Technical College, established in 1912, invest in the future of local students, ensuring they have the resources needed to pursue and excel in their education. This long-term initiative’s positive impact will resonate within the educational landscape and throughout the community.
