Learn More About Sydney

Most enjoyable aspect of Sydney’s role:
As an Admissions Advisor, I get the opportunity to help students find a career path they will
potentially be on for the rest of their life. I enjoy being able to connect with a variety of
students and learn about their different backgrounds and guide them towards their goals.

Sydney’s educational path:
I graduated from Lakeland University in 2021with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business
and an emphasis in Graphic Design, Sports Management, and Leadership.

It’s important to work with an Admissions Advisor because:
We are here to assist you in your future goals and to let you know all the opportunities that
Lakeshore has to offer.

Sydney’s career path:
While in college, I worked in Student Engagement, which kind of guided me toward higher
education. I knew I would miss going to college and thought maybe working in a college would
fill that hole (it does!). During college, as well as after college, I worked in the customer
service industry for about 4 years. Working with the public was something I was passionate about
and knew that I also wanted to move forward in that industry.

Familiarity with the Lakeshore district:
I moved to Sheboygan in 2017 for college after living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan my
whole life. I now consider this my second home.

Sydney’s advice to prospective students:
Choose a career path/place that you can see yourself fitting in or doing in the future. Ask
questions – there is no such thing as a stupid question. There is also no such thing as a wrong
answer if you follow the path you are meant to take.

Learn More About Brittany

Most enjoyable aspect of Brittany’s role:
I enjoy helping people through the process. Going to college can be scary for anyone, but I
want to make sure that they feel the least amount of stress as possible and that they enjoy
the process.

Brittany’s educational path:
I went to Lakeland University from 2010-2014. I graduated with a degree in sociology and a
minor in psychology.

It’s important to work with an Admissions Advisor because:
We get to help you become excited about your own future! We get to help you see the
opportunities Lakeshore offers and where they could land you.

Brittany’s career path:
After college, I got into coaching. I played softball and tennis at Lakeland and after I
graduated, I was not sure what I wanted to do, so I applied for some assistant coaching
positions. I landed an assistant softball coaching position at the University of North
Western Ohio where recruiting and relationship building were a huge part of my job. I stayed
there for three years, then took a head coaching position at Northland College in Ashland,
Wisconsin. A year later a position opened at Lakeland for the assistant softball coach, so I
decided to go back to my alma mater knowing that I loved the school and the area. While at
Lakeland, I was also the head women’s tennis coach.

Familiarity with the Lakeshore district:
I live in Howards Grove. I bought a house in 2020 but have lived in this area since 2017. I
am originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Brittany’s advice to prospective students:
Pick a place/career that makes you excited to show up. And, it’s ok to ask questions!
